American, United Forecast Profitability as Travel Demand Surges

Three of the country’s largest air carriers – American Airlines, United Airlines, and Alaska Airlines – announced financial results for the first quarter of 2022 on Thursday.

Fraport AG, the operator of Frankfurt Airport, announced traffic figures for the airport for fiscal year 2021.
Net income for the year was €91.8 million on revenue of €1.9 billion, compared to a loss of €690.4 million in fiscal year 2019.
Passenger traffic at Frankfurt Airport for the period was approximately 24.8 million travelers, an increase of 32% over fiscal year 2020 and a decrease of 6% over 2019.

JetBlue Airways announced financial results for fourth quarter of 2021.
The New York-based airline reported a net loss of $129 million on revenue of $1.8 billion for the quarter, a 177% increase over the same period in 2020, when it reported $661 million, but down 9.7% from 2019.
