Oetker Collection to Make U.K. Debut with Lanesborough Hotel

Oetker Collection, a hotel operator, announced it will take over management at the Lanesborough hotel in London.  The property, which has been closed and undergoing extensive renovations since 2013, is expected to re-open in spring 2015.
The Lanesborough will be the company’s first property in the United Kingdom.

American Airlines Expands Operations at LAX

American Airlines announced changes to its operations at Los Angeles International Airport effective Thursday.
All American Airlines flights operated by US Airways have moved to Terminal 6 from Terminal 3.  This includes ticketing, check-in, gates, baggage services, and customer service.  US Airways check-in counters are located on Level 2 of the terminal and flights will operate out of gates 60, 61, 62, and 63.

American to Increase Service on London Heathrow-LAX Route

American Airlines announced it will add an extra daily flight on its route between London Heathrow and Los Angeles International Airport beginning March 28 of next year.  The new flight will operate using a Boeing 777-300ER.
The flight will be in addition to American’s existing daily service between the two cities, as well as its joint business partner British Airways’ twice daily service between London Heathrow and LAX.

Flybe Begins Flights at London City Airport

Flybe, an English low-cost regional carrier, announced the launch of operations at London City Airport.  The carrier will offer daily service with Bombardier Q400 aircraft to and from the airport.
The airline operates over 180 routes to over 60 European airports.  From London City Airport, the carrier will serve Edinburgh, Belfast, Dublin, Inverness, and Exeter.

ANA to Expand Partnership with TAM Airlines

All Nippon Airways announced that it plans to expand its codeshare agreement with Brazilian carrier TAM Airlines later this month.
Beginning October 26, ANA will be allowed to place its code on TAM-operated flights to São Paulo from both Paris and Frankfurt.  Along with the transatlantic routes, the carrier will also put its code on five additional TAM routes from São Paulo.

Virgin Atlantic announced it will discontinue its short-haul Little Red service next year.  The service currently offers flights between London Heathrow and Manchester, as well as Edinburgh and Aberdeen, Scotland.
Virgin will cease Little Red London-Manchester service at the end of March 2015, while its Little Red flights between London and both Edinburgh and Aberdeen are scheduled to operate through the end of September 2015.
