Oetker Collection, a hotel operator, announced it will take over management at the Lanesborough hotel in London.  The property, which has been closed and undergoing extensive renovations since 2013, is expected to re-open in spring 2015.

The Lanesborough will be the company’s first property in the United Kingdom.

The hotel, which overlooks Hyde Park Corner near Buckingham Palace, has 93 guestrooms and suites, as well as a spa.  Breakfast and dinner will be served at Apsleys, the hotel’s restaurant, as will its signature Lanesborough Afternoon Tea.

The property also has a collection of vintage cognacs housed in the Withdrawing Room and the Library bar house.  The collection, which the hotel calls “Liquid History,” includes liquors that are over 200 years old.

Guests will also be able to access the Garden Room, the property’s cigar terrace and lounge.

Oetker Collection currently owns and operates eight hotels worldwide, including properties in France, Germany, Morocco, the Seychelles, and Saint Barthélemy.
