British Airways Boosts Executive Club Frequent Flier Benefits

British Airways, a member of the oneworld alliance, is adding a new Bronze card tier and greater point accumulation flexibility to its Executive Club frequent flier program.
Bronze tier benefits include business-class check-in; seat selection at seven days before departure; a 25 percent tier bonus for every mile flown; dedicated telephone number (UK & US) and Bronze tier luggage tags.

United’s First Boeing 787 Dreamliner Completes Initial Production Stage

United Airlines, a member of the Star Alliance, announced that Boeing completed the final assembly of the airline’s first  787 Dreamliner on October 12, finishing the first major stage in the aircraft’s production.
United is scheduled to be the first North American carrier to take delivery of a  787 and the airline plans to introduce the first of 50 Dreamliners into revenue service in 2012.

Delta Adds Gogo Vision Video-On-Demand and Wi-Fi Portal

Delta Air Lines launched new in-flight entertainment options in conjunction with its wireless partner Gogo.  The Delta Connect Wi-Fi portal offers passengers free access to real-time travel information, destination content, news and information, and on-line shopping.  Gift.com and OpenTable.com are included in the free content.

British Airways Invests in Aircraft, Lounge Upgrades

British Airways, a member of the oneworld Alliance, announced a major program to update its aircraft and lounges.
Starting in November, the airline will begin refurbishing 18 of its Boeing 777-200 aircraft.  The result will be all-new cabins, similar to those found in the airline’s new 777-300ER aircraft.
