Delta said Tuesday that it had ordered 30 additional A321neo jets from Airbus.

The move comes as the carrier continues to upgrade its fleet as it prepares for a continued rebound in travel.

“Adding these aircraft strengthens Delta’s commitment to replacing older fleets with more sustainable, fuel-efficient jets,” said the airline’s senior vice president in charge of its fleet, Mahendra Nair.

Delta’s orders for A321neos total 155. All are powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1100G turbofan engines.

The carrier expects to receive its first A321neo early next year.

Delta’s A321neos have a first-class cabin with seating for 20, a Comfort+ premium economy-lite cabin with 42 seats, and 132 seats in coach.
