DSC_4881Air Canada announced that it plans to begin a new codeshare agreement with Virgin Australia in early 2017.

When the codeshare goes into effect, Air Canada will be able to place its code on Virgin-operated flights to 10 different cities throughout Australia and New Zealand from Sydney and Brisbane.

Meanwhile, Virgin Australia will be allowed to place its code on Air Canada flights from Los Angeles to Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, and Montreal, Canada.

Member of the two airlines’ loyalty programs will be able to earn miles while flying on the new codeshare flights.

In the future, the two said they plan to build upon the codeshare by adding Virgin Australia’s code to Air Canada’s Vancouver-Sydney and Vancouver-Brisbane routes. The airlines also said they plan to begin offering reciprocal benefits to members of both airline loyalty programs.
