New Grand Hyatt Resort Opens in Playa del Carmen, Mexico

Hyatt announced the opening of the Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, about an hour south of Cancun.  The resort is the first Grand Hyatt hotel to open in Mexico, and the 11th Hyatt property located in the country.

The hotel has 314 guestrooms, 36 of which are suites, including swim-up suites that offer direct access to one of the property’s pools.  Each room has double-sink bathrooms and three-headed showers.

Guests can dine at La Cocina, a Mexican and Caribbean restaurant, or the Grill at 1-26, which offers steaks and seafood.  In addition, El Paseo offers small dishes, and various dessert bars, juice bars, and traditional bars are located on the premises.

The hotel has a fitness rooms and eight different pools, including three infinity pools, as well as a curated music playlist operated by a DJ.  The property also has a spa with eight treatment rooms and various other offerings, such as hydrotherapy stations, a eucalyptus steam room, and fiber optic chromotherapy showers.

Over 15,000 square feet (1,393 square meters) of meeting and event space are located on the property, including a grand ballroom and 18 separate meeting rooms.  The hotel also has a business center with extra laptops for guests to use.

The hotel’s Cam Hyatt offers games, crafts, and educational activities for children ages three through twelve, as well as an arcade with table tennis, foosball, a 10-person cinema, and video games.
