Avianca, TACA, and Copa Join Star Alliance

Avianca, TACA Airlines, and Copa Airlines have officially joined the Star Alliance.
Avianca and TACA Airlines are among the leading airlines in Central America, and Copa Airlines is Panama’s flag carrier. By joining the Star Alliance, their passengers can now access the 28 carrier network that flies 21,500 flights a day.
The addition of these three carriers to the Star Alliance will make transfers easier throughout Latin America. Travelers will also be able to take advantage of the frequent flyer benefits of the Star Alliance while flying with the newly added airlines.
Star Alliance, in operation since 1997, carries 650 million passengers a year.
