American Express Membership Rewards has announced a 50% bonus on point transfers to the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer program.  Transfers can be made in increments of 1,000 Membership Rewards points

American Express and BA most recently offered a 30% bonus in November.

For example, a round-trip business-class award ticket from New York JFK to London costs only 80,000 Avios or, with the bonus applied, 54,000 Membership Rewards points.  (You’ll even end up with 1,000 extra Avios since 54,000 MR points converts to 81,000 Avios.)  The same trip in first class costs only 120,000 Avios, or 80,000 MR points.

If you want to fly from New York to Munich, connecting in London, the flight in business class will cost 98,000 Avios, requiring 66,000 MR points.

The bonus offer is valid until May 31, 2012.
