Virgin America to Inaugurate San Francisco and Los Angeles Flights to Philly

Virgin America announced new transcontinental flights from the west coast to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The airline has started selling tickets for its new Philadelphia service, which is scheduled to begin in April.
Virgin will offer two flights from Philadelphia to San Francisco, starting on April 10, and three flights from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, starting April 4. Philadelphia will be Virgin America’s seventeenth destination.

San Jose and Seattle will be the first destinations in the United States to see the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.  ANA, the aircraft’s launch carrier, will begin service from Tokyo’s Narita airport to both locations some time in 2012.
ANA will be the only airline operating a San Jose-Tokyo route.

Asiana Airlines to Begin Da Nang Service

Asiana Airlines, a member of the Star Alliance, is scheduled to begin flights between Seoul’s Incheon Airport, the carrier’s hub, and Da Nang International Airport on December 14. Da Nang is one of Vietnam’s key industrial cities.
Asiana will operate the flights twice weekly using Airbus A321 aircraft. The service is currently scheduled to run through March 24, 2012.

Air China to Launch Direct Flights Between London Gatwick and Beijing

Air China, a member of the Star Alliance, will begin direct flights between London Gatwick and the carrier’s Beijing hub starting May 2, 2012.
Air China will operate the flights four times weekly using A330-200 aircraft.  The new flights will be in addition to Air China’s current London Heathrow service.

At the Dubai Air Show, Doha-based Qatar Airways announced that it plans to add new international routes in early 2012. Destinations include Perth, Helsinki, Zagreb, Gassim in Saudi Arabia, Zanzibar in Tanzania, Kigaili in Rwanda, and Mombasa in Kenya.
