U.S. Tells Citizens Not to Travel to China as WHO Declares ‘Public Emergency’ Due to Coronavirus Outbreak

The U.S. Department of State warned Americans late Thursday not to travel to China due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, shortly after the World Health Organization declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.
The news comes as the number of coronavirus cases has jumped to 10,000 worldwide.  The majority, however, are in China.

As the coronavirus continued to vex Asia, more airlines announced they would cancel flights to China.
American Airlines said it would cancel flights from Los Angeles to Beijing and Shanghai from February 9 through March 27, 2020.
