Norwegian Air Shuttle announced the start of new service from London Gatwick to three American cities last week.

The airline now offers twice-weekly service from the London airport to both Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with London-Los Angeles flights operating on Wednesdays and Sundays, and London-Fort Lauderdale flights operating on Mondays and Fridays.   The carrier also began thrice-weekly service to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, with flights operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Norwegian operates the flights using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, equipped with 291 seats.  The new routes are the airline’s first ever between the United Kingdom and the United States.

Norwegian Air Shuttle is a low-cost carrier founded in 1993, and is the second largest airline in Scandinavia.  The carrier currently serves over 125 destinations worldwide.
