Southwest to Add Service from Reagan National to 7 New Destinations

Southwest Airlines announced it will launch new service between Washington, D.C.’s Reagan National Airport and seven new destinations later this year. The airline also plans to increase service on existing routes from the Washington airport.

On August 10, Southwest will begin daily nonstop service between Washington and Chicago Midway, Nashville, and New Orleans. The Chicago-Washington service will operate six times a day, while the Nashville-Washington service will operate thrice daily, and service between New Orleans and Washington will operate twice a day.

Beginning September 30, the airline will launch new service between Washington and Tampa Bay, which will operate twice a day. Also on that date, the carrier plans to add three additional flights to its service between Washington and Chicago Midway, for a total of nine daily flights.

On November 2, the airline will begin daily nonstop service between Washington and Akron-Canton, Dallas Love Field, and Indianapolis. In addition, the carrier will increase its service between Washington and both Houston Hobby and St. Louis on that date.

Along with its new and expanded service from Washington, D.C., Southwest also announced it will begin new daily, nonstop service between Los Angeles and Omaha, Nebraska on June 9, once-weekly service between Los Angeles and Boise, Idaho on June 14, and daily nonstop service between San Francisco and St. Louis on September 30. The carrier also plans to add a third daily nonstop flight to its existing Los Angeles-St. Louis service on June 8.
