US Airways Adds Service from Charlotte to Barcelona, Brussels, Lisbon, and Manchester

US Airways announced the addition of four new international routes from its hub at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport in North Carolina on Monday.

Starting this spring, the Phoenix-based airline will add nonstop service to Barcelona, Spain; Brussels, Belgium; Lisbon, Portugal; and Manchester, England.  U.S. Airways also flies to these destinations from Philadelphia International Airport.

Service to Barcelona, Lisbon, and Manchester will begin on May 22, 2014.  The Brussels flight will begin to operate on June 5, 2014.

The daily Barcelona service will operate year-round on an Airbus A330-200 configured with 20 business-class Envoy lie-flat seats that are 20.5” wide and extend to a bed that is 80” long.  The aircraft is also equipped with 238 economy seats that are 17” wide with a seat pitch that ranges from 31” to 32”.

Flights from Charlotte to Lisbon and Manchester will operate from May 23 through September 28, 2014, on a Boeing 757-200 configured with 11 Envoy angled lie-flat business-class seats that are 19.5” wide and have a seat pitch of 60”, as well as 152 economy seats that are 17” wide and pitched at 32”.

The Brussels flight will operate from June 5 through September 1, 2014 on a Boeing 767-200ER.  The aircraft is equipped with 18 Envoy angled lie-flat business-class seats that are 20.5” wide and have a seat pitch of 62”, as well as 186 economy seats that are 17” wide and pitched at 31”.

With these flights, US Airways will offer 38 international destinations from Charlotte, including ten in Europe.  The airline serves 145 airports in 28 countries from Charlotte.
