Delta Air Lines announced a partnership with restaurateur Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, which owns multiple well-known restaurants including Gramercy Tavern, Union Square Café, and Blue Smoke, covering in-flight dining and hospitality.  Under the partnership, the airline will offer new BusinessElite Express Meals for the airline’s three daily flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and London Heathrow, beginning in February of next year from the group’s Blue Smoke restaurant.

Executive chef Kenny Callaghan and chef de cuisine Jeffrey Held of Blue Smoke will create the new menu for the Express Meals.  In addition, the Blue Smoke beverage team will create a signature cocktail to be offered on those flights.

Delta also said it is working with Hospitality Quotient (HQ), the learning and consulting business of Union Square Hospitality Group.  HQ will help Delta apply hospitality principles and best practices when interacting with its passengers.

Earlier this year, both Shake Shack and Blue Smoke opened up outlets in Delta’s new Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
