JetBlue Airways said it would celebrate World Kindness Day by donating three millions TrueBlue frequent-flyer program points to a variety of charities.

World Kindness Day has been observed annually across the globe on November 13 since 1989.  It is celebrated in Britain as Kindness Day UK on the same day. Its objective is to recognize and encourage acts of kindness.

The list of charities to which JetBlue will donate includes Autism Speaks, Make-A-Wish, Together We Rise, and World Central Kitchen, among others, and the airline is also encouraging its passengers to make similar donations as well.

The observance is also intended to increase the number of kind acts that take place throughout the year.  The U.K. group specifically cites a mission to encourage everyone in the country to carry out at least one act of kindness on the day.
