Delta and Latam Expand Partnership to Include Frequent-Flyer Benefits

Delta Air Lines and Latam Airlines Group announced plans to offer members of their frequent-flyer programs the ability to earn and redeem miles on the other.

The carriers said they plan to extend elite reciprocal benefits, including lounge access and access to priority boarding, bag check, and seat assignment later this year.

In a statement, Delta said it sees the relationship with Latam as one that “connects North and South America like never before.”

The two airlines said they will also launch a code-share partnership for flights operated by Latam’s affiliate in Brazil later this year.

In September, Delta took a 20% stake in Latam.  In December, the two airlines announced a codeshare partnership for flights to be operated by Latam affiliates in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.

Latam Airlines Group is a Chilean holding company headquartered in Santiago. It has subsidiaries in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Peru.
