Delta Air Lines announced new versions of its popular Tumi amenity kits.  The new kits will come in two designs and have new personal care products included in it.

Depending on the direction of travel, a Delta One customer will receive either a hard- or soft-sided Tumi amenity kit.  The new kits will include a Tumi soft-touch pen and eyeshades, Malin + Goetz lip moisturizer, body lotion, and mouthwash, a packet of tissues, a toothbrush with Crest toothpaste, and new earth tone striped socks.

The Atlanta-based airline first introduced Tumi kits in 2013.  The new kits will begin being distributed on July 1.

Delta also plans to distribute sleep kits to passengers in Comfort+ cabins.  These kits will include a toothbrush and toothpaste starting July 1 in addition to an eye mask, and ear plugs.  Coach passengers on international flights will continue to receive a sleep kit with an eye mask and earplugs.

Amenity kits were first introduced by Pan American World Airways in the 1950s, followed by Trans World Airlines.  Pan Am’s legendary first-class amenity kits included perfume (for ladies) and cologne and aftershave (for men) until the start of 747 service in 1970, although these items were reintroduced in the mid 70s.
