Air Canada announced the opening of its Maple Leaf Lounge in the new Terminal 2 of London Heathrow Airport. The 7,534-square-foot (700-square-meter) lounge is open to Air Canada Altitude Super Elite 100K, Elite 75K, and Elite 50K members, as well as Star Alliance Gold members and business-class passengers who have confirmed same-day travel on a departing Air Canada or Star Alliance flight.

The London International Maple Leaf Lounge features the Canada Room, which showcases Canadian artwork against Canadian maple wood millwork, backlit walls lined with Canadian maple wood slats, and cross-cut slabs of Ontario Eramosa marble. The room also features has glass art walls and glass sculptures.

Also located within the lounge is a quiet zone, featuring three reclining pods equipped with personal satellite TVs, USB ports, and Sony noise-canceling headsets. In addition, the lounge has a Bistro-style dining area, which offers both hot and cold food options, a bar offering a wide selection of beers, wines, and spirits, and a cooking station that offers prepared meals upon request.

The lounge also houses a spa-inspired shower area featuring large rain-shower heads and ambient music. A business center is also located in the lounge, and features individual flat screen PCs, and color laser printing and scanning.

The entire lounge offers complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access, and is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
