Delta Air Lines announced it will begin new service to Seattle from both San Diego and Portland, Oregon next year.  The carrier will also add one seasonal flight to Seattle from Anchorage, beginning June 5.

On June 2, 2014, the airline will begin four daily, nonstop flights to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport from San Diego International Airport.  Four daily, nonstop flights to Seattle from Portland International Airport will also begin on September 2 next year.

Both new routes will be operated by Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines, using CRJ-900 aircraft, equipped with 76 seats.

In addition, Delta will resume seasonal service from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport to Seattle on May 23, 2014, as well as add an additional seasonal flight from the Alaskan city on June 5 of next year.  The seasonal Anchorage flight will be operated using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

In celebration of the new routes, Delta is offering its SkyMiles members the opportunity to earn double miles and double Medallion Qualification Miles for Delta-marketed, Delta-, or Delta Connection-operated flights between Seattle and Anchorage, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Portland, San Diego, and San Francisco.  The offer applies for flights through October 31, 2014, and SkyMiles members must register for travel by December 31 of this year.
