Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts announced the opening of its first property in Turkey. The Shangri-La Bosphorus is aptly located on the Strait of Bosphorus, in the modern city of Istanbul. Although six floors of the 13-story hotel are underground, it will be the second tallest building on the coastline.

The hotel’s 186 Asian decorated guest rooms claim to be the most spacious in the city at 453 square feet (42 square meters). Seventeen suites will be nearly twice this size, and most rooms will feature a view of the Bosphorus Sea.  Guests can enjoy the hotel’s signature spa, CHI, as well as a modern fitness center and indoor pool.

A grand ballroom, junior ballroom, boardroom, teleconferencing room, business center, and six function rooms make up 1,890 square feet (175 square meters) of meeting and event space.

Guests have access to several dining options, all located within the hotel. An all day eatery provides a mix of Western and Asian fare. The Chinese restaurant features private dining options for an intimate setting, and will serve authentic Chinese cuisine. The hotel’s centrally located Lobby Lounge offers breakfast and lunch as well as an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing evening with tea or cocktails.

The Shangri-La Bosphorus is conveniently positioned among several easily accessible attractions such as the Dolmabahce Palace, Maritime Museum, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia.
