The flight originated at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport and landed at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.

The flight followed the airline’s successful completion of the FAA certification process for the aircraft on November 2.  The Dreamliner had arrived in Houston on September 28 to begin the month-long certification program, which included more than 100 flight hours, flights to various United international and domestic locations, and a series of test scenarios, including diversions and simulated mechanical issues.

United has thus far taken deliver of 50 Dreamliners it has ordered, and is the first U.S. airline to receive the aircraft.  More than 800 787 Dreamliners have been ordered by airlines around the world.
