Hyatt Hotels announced the opening of the Park Hyatt Chennai, the company’s 30th Park Hyatt-branded hotel. Located in Chennai, known as the gateway to Southern India, the hotel is situated next to the Governor’s residence and adjacent to

Guindy National Park, as well as in close proximity to the city’s airport and the new developments of Sri Perumbudur, the Guindy Industrial Estate, and OMR (Old Mahabalipuram Road).

The hotel includes 201 luxury guestrooms, 20 of which are suites, each with travertine marble floors and hand tufted rugs. The bathrooms are polished marble, with deep-soak, stone plunge bathtubs.

The inner courtyard of the hotel features a lily pond, and custom art-installations highlighting Indian textile and heritage are showcased throughout the property. Overlooking the lily pond, the hotel’s The Dining Room restaurant features all-day dining on traditional South Indian and European bistro fare. In early 2013, the hotel will introduce The Flying Elephant, which will offer a selection of exotic cuisines.

The Antahpura Spa includes six treatment rooms that overlook Guindy National Park. The hotel features a fully equipped fitness center called Sphere, which includes separate areas for cardio and strength training, as well as a yoga studio and hot and cold plunge pools and steam and sauna facilities.

For meetings, Park Hyatt Chennai offers The Apartment, an 8,000 square foot (743 square meter) event and meeting venue that includes an open kitchen, where guests may watch the hotel’s chefs at work.
