WestJet Announces Kargo Kids Child-Free Cabins

WestJet, a low-cost carrier in Canada, announced its Kargo Kids program.  The new amenity offers travelers a quiet and relaxing in-flight experience.  It launched on April 1, 2012.

Children travel in a “special VIP” section of the plane, which appears to resemble the cargo hold. Onboard each flight is a Kargo Kids counselor, who supervises the children and provides games and activities.

Kargo Kids “offers little WestJetters an incredible travel experience” while providing parents and other passengers a “quiet, child-free cabin,” said Richard Bartrem, the airline’s vice president for communications and community relations.  “The initial feedback of Kargo Kids has been quite positive and we’re looking forward to the peace and quiet while we get families where they need to be.”
