Alaska Airlines and Emirates Airline have announced a new frequent flyer program partnership.

With the new partnership, Emirates Skywards members will accrue miles when flying Alaska Airlines, and Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members will be able to earn miles when flying Emirates. Both carriers will offer double miles March 1 through May 31, 2012.

Starting March 1, Emirates will also launch a new daily nonstop between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Dubai International Airport (DXB) in the United Arab Emirates, using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Seattle will be Emirates’ sixth U.S. gateway, following the start of service between Dallas-Ft.Worth (DFW) and Dubai, which launches February 2.
