Starwood has announced plans to open its 70th Aloft hotel worldwide by 2013.
Aloft is a brand geared towards Generation Y travelers, and focuses on modern design (such as their re:mix lounges and w xyz bars) and affordable rates.

Heathrow Airport Strike Set For Wednesday; Significant Delays and Cancellations Expected

A one-day strike by unions representing over two million passport-control officers, teachers, and other public sector workers is set for Wednesday.  The officers are employees of the UK Border Agency.  BAA, which operates London’s Heathrow Airport, posted a warning on Friday that travelers should expect mass cancellations of international flights.

The Radisson Edwardian Mercer Street Hotel, located in an area of London’s trendy Covent Garden neighborhood known informally as Seven Dials, has completed a $24 million redesign.
The 137-room boutique hotel, formerly the Radisson Edwardian Mountbatten, features eight new suites and Apple TVs in all rooms allowing connections with iPads, iPhones and iPods. Suites have neighborhood views, large bathrooms with walk-in showers and separate dressing rooms with refrigerators.
