United Airlines announced plans to offer free coronavirus tests to passengers on flights between the airline’s New York area hub and London as part of a pilot program.

United Airlines said it had “successfully trialed” a digital health pass as part of a global pilot program that seeks to establish a common international standard for COVID-19 test results and eventually vaccine records. United Airlines Starts Covid-19 Passenger Testing at SFO

United Airlines began to offer passengers traveling to Hawaii from San Francisco the opportunity to take a pre-flight rapid coronavirus test at the airport on Thursday. The airline also offers drive-through testing at the airline’s maintenance center there in advance of the trip.
The move gives passengers a choice of a more expensive rapid test at the airport or a less expensive drive-through test in advance of the trip.

United Airlines and the Department of Defense along with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA, conducted a series of tests that studied the safety of commercial air travel and the risk of transmission of the coronavirus during flight.

United Airlines Sees 78% Drop in Revenue in Q3, Posts $1.8 Billion Loss

United Airlines announced financial results for the third quarter of 2020.
The airline recorded $2.49 billion in revenue in the period, down 78% from $11.38 billion in the third quarter of 2019 after cutting capacity by 70% amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
The Chicago-based carrier posted a net loss of $1.8 billion for the period, compared to profit of $1 billion in Q3 2019.
