Lufthansa to Restart Service to 20 Cities in June, Drop A380 Fleet from Frankfurt

Lufthansa said it plans to restore service to 20 additional locations next month, a company spokesman told Frequent Business Traveler on Sunday.  It also said it plans to discontinue Airbus A380 service from its Frankfurt hub.
The list of cities includes Crete, Faro, Ibiza, Malaga, Mallorca, and Rhoades, and the flights are slated to start in the middle of the month.  All of the flights will operate from Frankfurt.

Lufthansa to Reduce Capacity by 50%, May Ground A380s

Lufthansa Group said late Friday that it may reduce capacity by up to 50% in the coming weeks. The move will impact all carriers owned by Lufthansa, including Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, and Swiss International Air Lines.

Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, and Swiss International Air Lines announced they would relocate their operations to the new Willy Brandt Berlin Brandenburg Airport on November 8.  Eurowings, another Lufthansa subsidiary, will begin operations there starting on November 4.

As the coronavirus continued to vex Asia, more airlines announced they would cancel flights to China.
