Lufthansa Announces Routes For New Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental
Lufthansa has announced that, starting today, customers can book travel on routes flying its Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental.
Beginning June 1, Lufthansa will fly the 747-8 on the Frankfurt-Washington route six times a week. Over the next few months, as the carrier receives four additional 747-8s, new routes will be added. By the end of the summer, Lufthansa will be operating the 747-8 on flights to Delhi, Bangalore, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

Lufthansa Gets Its First Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental
Launch customer Lufthansa took possession of its first Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental plane. This is the second 747-8 delivered by Boeing. The first went to a private customer and will not enter service until 2014.
The 747-8 Intercontinental brings improved emissions and 30% lower noise over its predecessor, the 747-400. It was first announced in 2005 and is the fourth generation of the 747 jumbo jet.
