Delta Cuts 40% of Capacity as Demand Falls Due to Coronavirus Outbreak

Delta Air Lines announced drastic cuts to its flying schedule by up to 40%, citing significantly lower demand due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The news was announced in a memorandum to employees.
“The speed of the demand fall-off is unlike anything we’ve seen – and we’ve seen a lot in our business,” the airline’s CEO, Ed Bastian, wrote.

Delta to Park Planes and Reduce Capacity By Up to 25% Due to Coronavirus Outbreak

Delta Air Lines said Tuesday it would reduce system capacity by up to 25% to account for the reduced demand due to the coronavirus outbreak.   It is also parking aircraft and considering the early retirement of some older airliners.

Delta Air Lines announced plans to launch new service between Memphis and Boston.
The daily non-stop flights between Memphis International Airport and Boston Logan International Airport are slated to commence on October 4, 2020.
