Hotel Workers in California Go on Strike
Hotel employees in California are on strike seeking higher wages after union contracts at 60 hotels covering over 15,000 hotel workers, including front desk clerks, uniform and room attendants, restaurant workers and more, expired June 30.
The union – Unite Here Local 11 – says that the region’s high cost of living and rent, making commutes and buying basic goods unsustainable.
