Japan Airlines To Roll Out New Menu Items

Japan Airlines announced it will introduce new dishes for premium economy- and economy-class passengers on select flights between Tokyo and various North American and European destinations beginning June 1.
The new menu items will include Tapien, a pork and chicken soup with vermicelli made from mung beans and served with grilled rice balls, as well as custard cake for dessert.  The dishes will be offered as a second meal service.

United Debuts Embraer 175 Planes in United Express Fleet

United Airlines announced it has added its first Embraer 175 aircraft to its United Express fleet. The airline added additional service between Chicago and both Boston and Washington, D.C. using the new planes. Both new services are operated by United Express carrier SkyWest Airlines.

TSA Opens PreCheck Enrollment Site at Boston Logan

The Transportation Security Administration has opened an enrollment office at Boston Logan International Airport where travelers can apply to use expedited security lanes.
Individuals who are accepted will be able to use the TSA’s PreCheck trusted traveler lanes.  PreCheck is a program that allows travelers to keep their shoes, belts, and light jackets on and leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags.

Turkish Airlines Begins New Boston-Istanbul Service

Turkish Airlines announced the launch of new, non-stop service between Boston’s Logan International Airport and Atatürk International Airport in Istanbul, Turkey.
The new service operates five times a week and, beginning June 9, the number of weekly flights will be increased.  Turkish Airlines uses Airbus A330 and A340 aircraft on this route.

JetBlue Airways announced the launch of a new codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines. The collaboration allows Turkish Airlines to place its code on various JetBlue-operated flights into and out of New York and Boston.

United to Open New Concourse at Boston Logan

United Airlines announced it will open a new 10-gate concourse at Terminal B of Boston’s Logan International Airport on April 30.  The new concourse cost more than $170 million.
The new concourse will be 97,000 square feet (29,566 square meters) in size, and will include a new ticketing lobby, improved security checkpoints, and a United Club lounge for the airline’s top-tier passengers.
