Southwest Airlines announced operational results for July 2014.  The carrier’s passenger traffic, capacity, and load factor all increased during the month.
System traffic for July was 10.633 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 6.6% from 9.977 billion RPMs in July 2013.  Capacity also rose by 2.6% year-over-year to 12.259 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 11.949 billion ASMs last year.

Delta Air Lines announced operational results for July 2014.
The Atlanta-based carrier’s total system traffic for the month was 19.97 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 2.8%, up from 19.42 billion in July 2013. Domestic traffic rose 4.7%, up to 11.58 billion RPMs from 11.07 billion last year, while international traffic rose 0.3% to 8.39 billion RPMs, up from 8.36 billion during the same period of 2013.

British Airways, Iberia to Cut Capacity as Revenue Climbs

International Airlines Group announced financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2014.
The parent of British Airways and Iberia said that net profit rose to €280 million ($374.9 million), a 220% increase over the €127 million reported a year earlier.   Revenue was up 6.7% to €5.1 billion, and operating profit rose 55% to €380 million.

WestJet Reports Record Q2 Profit

WestJet Airlines announced financial results for the second quarter of 2014.
The carrier reported a record profit of 51.8 million Canadian dollars ($47.9 million) in the second quarter, a year-over-year increase of 15.9% from C$44.7 million in Q2 of 2013.
Revenue in the second quarter also increased, up 10.3% to C$930.3 million from C$843.7 million in the same period last year.
