American Airlines Group announced operational results for March 2015.
Consolidated system traffic for the airline was 18.4 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, down 0.6% from 18.5 billion in the same period last year.  Consolidated capacity was 22.41 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, a slight 0.9% drop from 22.62 billion.

Southwest Airlines announced operational results for March 2015, as well as for the first quarter of 2015.
The carrier’s total system traffic for March was 10.241 billion RPMs, or revenue passenger miles, a year-over-year increase of 6.7% from 9.596 billion RPMs in March 2014.  For Q1 2015, Southwest had 25.861 billion RPMs, a 7.1% increase from 24.155 billion RPMs in Q1 2014.

The Atlanta-based carrier’s total system traffic for the month was 17.55 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 2.5%, up from 17.12 billion in March 2014.  Domestic traffic rose 3.7%, up to 10.9 billion RPMs from 10.52 billion last year, while international traffic rose 0.7% to 6.64 billion RPMs, up from 6.6 billion during the same period of 2014.

U.S. Airlines Set Record in 2014 for Load Factor and International Travel

The year 2014 was a banner one for U.S. airlines, according to figures released by the Department of Transportation on Thursday.
The agency’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics said that the load factor for all U.S. airlines covering both domestic and international flights in 2014 was 83.4%, a 0.3 percentage point increase over the prior year.
An airline’s load factor represents the percentage of seats filled on a flight.
