JetBlue Reports $129 Million Loss in Fourth Quarter

JetBlue Airways announced financial results for fourth quarter of 2021.
The New York-based airline reported a net loss of $129 million on revenue of $1.8 billion for the quarter, a 177% increase over the same period in 2020, when it reported $661 million, but down 9.7% from 2019.
The airline forecast lower earnings in Q1 2022, it said, amidst ticket cancellations and high absenteeism amongst staff due to the omicron variant.

American Airlines announced financial results for fourth quarter of 2021.
The Fort Worth-based carrier reported a $931 million loss for the period on revenue of $9.43 billion.  Just one year prior, the airline had posted a loss of nearly $2.2 billion for the same period.
