Starwood has announced its Better By the Night Promotion. Registration is currently open, and will close on November 30, 2012. The promotion, which runs from October 1 through December 20, 2012, allows guests to earn Double Starpoints on eligible one or two-night stays, and Triple Starpoints on eligible three or more night stays.

Hyatt announced the opening of the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur in the Kuala Lumpur City Center in Malaysia.

Icelandair Picks Anchorage as New Gateway in North America
Icelandair announced that Anchorage, Alaska will be its newest gateway in North America, and further announced two new destinations, St. Petersburg, Russia, and Zurich, Switzerland. Non-stop seasonal service between Reykjavík, Iceland and Anchorage will be offered twice a week through mid-September 2013, and will begin on May 15, 2013.

Singapore Airlines will invest $20 million and has appointed architectural and interior design firm ONG&ONG to develop a new design concept for all of its SilverKris airport lounges worldwide. The SilverKris Lounge at Sydney Airport will be the first to receive the makeover and it will take five years for all the company’s lounges to be updated.

United Airlines announced the first international routes for its soon-to-arrive Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
