Norwegian Air to Suspend 85% of Flights, 90% of Staff

Norwegian Air said it will cancel up to 85% of its flights and lay off some 7,300 employees as it reacts to the coronavirus outbreak.  It is suspending all flights to and from the United States.
The low-cost carrier will concentrate largely on flights within Norway for the time being.
“As of March 21, the company will primarily fly a reduced scheduled domestically in Norway and between the Nordic capitals,” it said. …

Hawaiian Air Temporarily Halts Service to Australia and New Zealand

Hawaiian Airlines said Sunday it plans to temporarily suspend service linking Honolulu and Sydney, Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand.  The move, the airline said, comes after new government entry restrictions that were imposed due to the coronavirus outbreak in those countries.
Both the New Zealand and Australian governments imposed a 14-day self-isolation period upon entry to either country.

United Airlines to Cut Capacity by 50% Amidst Coronavirus Outbreak

United Airlines said it will announce cuts in capacity by “approximately 50%” for April and May as a result of travel bans and a drop in demand due to the novel coronavirus.
