Alaska Airlines said Wednesday it plans to introduce non-stop daily service next year linking Seattle with Pittsburgh. Alaska will be the only carrier to operate that route.

Alaska Air to End Flights to Cuba

Citing low demand, Alaska Airlines said Wednesday it would discontinue daily service to Havana, Cuba, early next year.
Service between Los Angeles International Airport and Aeropuerto Internacional José Martí in Havana had started on January 5, 2017.
The airline said that the change in U.S. policy last week, which eliminated so-called “people-to-people” educational travel, was the driver of the change: 80% of its passengers on the route travel under that allowance.

Delta Air Lines announced on Tuesday plans for the final flights of its last Boeing 747 aircraft.
The Atlanta-based carrier’s final scheduled 747 flight from the United States will take place on December 15, departing Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport at 12:31 p.m for Seoul’s Incheon International Airport. American Airlines announced Tuesday it will offer its first-ever flights to Iceland starting next spring.
The seasonal service will begin on June 7, 2018 and connect Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport with Keflavik International Airport in Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik. The carrier will continue the service through October 27.
