Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Reflagged as Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort After Undergoing $115-Million Renovation
Hyatt announced the reflagging of the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch as the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort following the completion of a major renovation of the property.
The Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort is the hotelier’s first Grand Hyatt property in Arizona.
“The newly reimagined luxury resort invites guests to connect with the captivating spirit of the American Southwest,“ the hotel said in a statement.
The resort underwent a $115-million renovation that was executed by Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo, an architectural firm based in Irvine, California, and the Hale Collective, which is based in Phoenix. The architects designed the reflagged property to ensure that it would integrate seamlessly with its surroundings: It now offers dramatic mountain vistas and, the hotel said, celebrates “the interplay of light, water, and desert botanicals.”
The renovation project included all of the resort’s 496 guestrooms, including its 18 casitas, Spanish for cottage or small house, as well as the two-story Gainey House, which includes a private entrance, driveway, and barbeque. Each guestroom now has what the hotel termed a “multi-purpose living space,” as well as a spa-inspired bathroom, a private balcony or patio, and a kitchenette.
The reflagging of the property included the creation of four new restaurants, including La Zozzona, an Italian chophouse, Tiki Taka, which offers small dishes from around the world, and Mesa Centrale, a Southwestern grill. In addition, the property debuted its new Grand Vista Lounge in the lobby.
Hyatt also upgraded the hotel’s 2.5-acre (1-hectare) pool complex, which includes 10 pools and a sand beach, and increased the number of cabanas available in the space. Additionally, the property’s Spa Avania introduced new treatments in September, including Cryo Sculpt Facials, Desert Essence Wraps, and CBD Trigger Point Therapy Massage, among others.
The Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort also unveiled its revamped meeting and event space, which includes its upgraded 14,000-square-foot (1,300-square-meter) Vaquero Ballroom. Furthermore, when the hotel’s Arizona Ballroom reopens in January, it will be 24,000 square feet (2,229 square meters), around three times the size that it was previously, and will give the property approximately 90,000 square feet (8,361 square meters) of meeting and event space in total.
