Boeing Presses ‘Pause’ on 787 Dreamliner Deliveries
Aircraft maker Boeing said it temporarily halted deliveries of its high-tech 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The move followed notification by the company that it is conducting “additional analysis on a fuselage component,” the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said Thursday.
“Deliveries will not resume until the FAA is satisfied that the issue has been addressed,” the agency said in a written statement to The Travelist and Frequent Business Traveler.
Meanwhile, Boeing confirmed the temporary halt, adding that “there is no immediate safety of flight concern for the in-service fleet.”
The matter will not impact ongoing manufacturing of the 787, Boeing said.
“Production continues and this is not expected to increase airplane rework,” Boeing said in a written statement to The Travelist.
