Grand Aston La Habana Hotel Opens Its Doors to Guests in Havana

Archipelago, a Southeast Asia-based hotel operator, announced the opening of the Grand Aston La Habana Hotel in Havana.

The 600-key property is in the Vedado central commercial district.  Vedado’s main street, Calle 23, also known as La Rampa, runs east to west and terminates in the Malecón waterfront seawall.  The district features many notable venues including the Gran Sinagoga Bet Shalom; Focsa, the tallest building in Cuba; John Lennon Park, and the University of Havana, and it is adjacent to Central Havana and Miramar.

The guest rooms feature a modern décor using earth tones with aqua accents.  Club rooms are on the upper floors and include access to the executive lounge as well as a continental breakfast.

Dining options include Visa, which offers international cuisine; Oro, an elegant eating establishment that is helmed by the hotel’s executive chef; and Ventanas, the lobby bar with a resident mixologist.  The Club is the hotel’s executive lounge, offering breakfast, refreshments throughout the day, and a private check-in area, all with views of Havana Bay.

Guest amenities include the Wellness Center by Spa Ubud, which offers massages using Balinese techniques, a 24-hour fitness center, and a 197-foot (60-meter) long outdoor pool that also overlooks the bay.

The Grand Aston La Habana offers a variety of meeting and event spaces including the Java, Sumatra, and Bali rooms with Indonesian-inspired décors and bathed in natural light.  Each can accommodate up to 80 guests.  The hotel can host larger events in several outdoor spaces.
