Hyatt Reports Q4, FY 2021 Loss While Hilton and Marriott Report Gains

Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt Hotels, and Marriott International all announced financial results for both the fourth quarter of 2021 as well as the full fiscal year.

While Marriott and Hilton reported profits for the quarter as well as the complete year, Hyatt recorded losses.

Hyatt posted a $29 million loss for the fourth quarter and a $203 million loss for the full year. Those numbers compare favorably to 2020, when the fourth quarter and full year dove to $222 million and $703 million in losses, respectively.

Meanwhile, Hilton reported net income of $148 million for the quarter and $407 million for the year, while Marriott posted net income of $468 million in Q4 but had not released full-year statements at press time.

By comparison, Hilton in 2020  recorded a loss of $225 million for Q4 and $720 million for the year. In 2019 the hotelier’s income had been $176 for the final quarter and $886 million for the year.

Meanwhile, Marriott had reported a $164 million loss in Q4 2020.
