THE ROOM

The door of my Downtown King Deluxe room had the Hilton CleanStay seal on it, unbroken of course, indicating that no one had entered since the housekeeper cleaned it and then disinfected it using Lysol products.

Upon entering, Snickers immediately made a security sweep of the room before settling in on the bed, which he seemed to be claiming possession of.

Next to the bed, a tray held several disinfecting hand wipes as an amenity, along with a list of what parts of the room – virtually everything one could imagine including all switches and controls, tables, the iron and safe in the room, and of course the television remote control – had been cleaned and disinfected.

The hotel’s coffee wake-up service

The W.C. had a large window with an expansive view of the area around the hotel, a rather pleasant way to begin the day when washing up in the morning.

In addition, it had a fantastically large walk-in shower with wonderful Malin + Goetz bath products including soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion.

My only complaint about the room was that the ventilation system was quite noisy when the compressor for the air conditioning would kick on and off.  The hotel’s assistant manager told me that it was a known issue and being addressed.

The noisy air conditioning did not, however, prevent me from getting a good night’s sleep. I woke up each day feeling refreshed and ready to explore parts of the city.  The hotel offers a complimentary coffee wake-up service that sends a pot of fresh-brewed coffee along with several Biscoff cookies to your door.  The delivery, of course, is touchless given the circumstances.
