Delta Air Lines announced the release of version 5.14 of its Fly Delta smartphone app for both the Apple iOS and Android platforms.

The iOS version, available to all iPhone users, features several new capabilities including a new Today Mode “experience” and both Android and iOS gain the ability to add an infant as a passenger from the Trip Details screen.

Today Mode is an update to the day-of-travel information the app displays.  It “delivers speed and ease to simplify your day of travel and make things easier to find on the go,” the airline said in a statement.

The new feature displays the mobile boarding pass including the QR code on the top portion of the screen and gate and departure time information in the middle, clearly indicating the time remaining until departure.

The update also simplifies access to seat selection, upgrades, same-day changes, bag tracking, and wait time at the security checkpoint.

The newest version of the Fly Delta smartphone app is available for download at no charge in the Apple App Store as well as in Google Play.
