On the heels of the announcement by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that Canada would begin to allow tourists from the United States starting in August, Air Canada said it would expand its summer transborder schedule to include 55 routes and 34 destinations, offering a total of 220 daily flights between the two nations.

Air Canada said it would offer the “most extensive” schedule between the two countries. Travelers will also be able to connect to flights to international destinations beyond Canada through the airline’s hubs in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver.

“The easing of travel restrictions announced today by the federal government is an important step based on science, and we are very pleased to rebuild our Canada-U.S. network,” said Mark Galardo, the airline’s senior vice president of network planning.

The relaxed requirements eliminate quarantine requirements and relax Covid-19 testing requirements.

Travelers can manage their Covid-19 test results via the Air Canada app, which is available on Apple iOS and Android platforms.
