JPMorgan Chase to Open ‘Sapphire’ Airport Lounges, First to be at Boston Logan
JPMorgan Chase announced plans to open its own airport lounges for bank customers.
The bank said its lounges, which will be branded the Chase Sapphire Lounge by the Club, would offer “exceptional, authentic and regionally inspired food, drink, art, entertainment, and wellness” to travelers although it didn’t say when the lounges might open or where they would be located.
One of the first Sapphire lounges, however, will be at Boston’s Logan International Airport, according to the Massachusetts Port Authority, known as Massport. Massport announced plans for the lounge in March in a published summary of its board meeting.
The new 12,000-square-foot (1,115 square meter) lounge will open in 2022 in the new Terminal B-C Connector. Lounge amenities there would include a concierge, dining and bar service, a family room, a rest and wellness room, and airport support services.
The bank is partnering with Airport Dimensions, an independent operator of airport lounges that currently operates 28 such facilities.
“We’re investing in meeting our customers where they want to be as more and more of them have the confidence to travel again,” said Marianne Lake, the bank’s head of consumer lending.
Entry to the lounge will be available to Priority Pass members, Chase Sapphire cardholders, and via the purchase of a day pass.
