JetBlue Takes Steps to Offer Tickets in the U.K. for New N.Y.-London Service

JetBlue Airways moved forward with its plans to offer transatlantic service from New York to London with the appointment of a sales team for the United Kingdom.

The New York-based airline is pointing with Discover the World, a U.K.-based firm that serves as an outsourced sales and marketing organization for companies in the travel and hospitality industries.

The two companies announced the appointment of a dedicated sales team, naming Claire Herbert to the position of senior sales manager for the team.  The U.K.-based sales team will focus its efforts on travel management companies and leisure-focused travel agents.

In announcing the move, the airline noted that “London will be JetBlue’s first ‘BlueCity’ across the pond” and said it plans to provide customers with “with an extraordinary product at disruptive fares.”
