JetBlue Airways announced the appointment of Carol Clements to the position of chief digital and technology officer.

Ms. Clements succeeds Eash Sundaram in that role.  Mr. Sundaram retired from the airline in March of this year after a combined 14 years at JetBlue and JetBlue Technology Ventures.

“As we work through the pandemic recovery, technology will play a more important role than ever in our success,” said Robin Hayes, the airline’s president, underscoring the importance of the new appointment.

Prior to joining JetBlue, Ms. Clements served as chief technology officer at Pizza Hut and held a variety of roles at Southwest Airlines covering e-commerce, reservations and loyalty technology, and business intelligence.

The appointment will take effect on April 26.
