Austrian Airlines said it was resuming regular flights from Vienna to both London and Tel Aviv.

The move comes in the heels of the expiration of a travel ban for visitors arriving from the United Kingdom and on the relaxation of Israel travel rules.

Austrian authorities had banned flights from the United Kingdom to prevent the spread of the U.K. variant of the coronavirus in the Alpine nation.  Austrian effectively operated one-way service to London, flying the aircraft back without passengers.

The airline will operate two daily flights to and from London Heathrow, one in the morning and one in the evening using Airbus A319 aircraft.

The carrier will operate one daily non-stop flight from Vienna Airport to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv and one daily return flight using a mix of Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft.
