Marriott International announced the opening of the Moxy Austin-University, the first Moxy-branded hotel in Texas.

The hotel is located next to the University of Texas at Austin campus in the city of Austin.

The concept of the hotel draws inspiration from the university setting. The 162 guestrooms feature industrial design elements such as platform beds and peg walls in lieu of closets.

Bar Moxy, a 150-seat indoor and outdoor lounge space, doubles as the check-in area, and guests will be offered a complimentary cocktail upon checking in. The bar also features an interactive guestbook that connects guests with those at other Moxy hotels around the globe through social media.

The hotel’s restaurant is Zombie Taco. The 24-hour taco counter  s the restaurant’s third location.

The hotel is also offering university-themed activities and programs such as a syllabus detailing hotel events, Fraternity Fridays and Sorority Saturdays, as well as a night specifically for campus staff.
